Acoustic Guitar

     Welcome to Family Music Studio Acoustic Guitar! Acoustic guitar instruction will include fundamentals of music theory such as the staff, timing, and key signatures. Chord fingerings, picking patterns, scales, barre chords, chord placement in ad lib accompaniment will be covered. Grant will make assignments out of beginner and adult books from the Hal Leonard series, and adults will work out of the National Guitar Workshop Method fingerstyle series. Miss Catheryn will make assignments out of "Mel Bay's Children's Guitar Method" for younger beginners and "Essential Elements For Guitar" for older beginners.

     Acoustic methods will include playing with a pick and playing patterns and melodies with the right hand. All the skills learned in acoustic instruction will be directly applicable to various styles (country, bluegrass, rock ballads) and various guitars (acoustic or electric). Goals for acoustic instruction include playing accompaniment and performing solo pieces.

     All monthly fees are based on 34 instructional times per school year. The first monthly fee is due back by August 1st with the registration sheet. Subsequent fees are due by the first of each month ending with the fee due on May 1st for a total of ten monthly payments.

     Private half-hour Lessons: $65 per month.
     Private half-hour Lessons for beginners from Assistant Teacher: $47 per month.
