Lebanon Community Arts Council of Indiana: The members of the Lebanon Community Arts Council of Indiana are local musicians, teachers, artists, and performers who have joined together to provide and sponsor more culturally-significant programs and events in the Lebanon community. Past events sponsored by the LCAC include Red, White and Blues; Lebanon Community Youth Orchestra and the Faucett & Flame Folk and Blues Series. Knapp Music: Established company in Pittsboro, IN for instrument rentals (strings and wind) and purchase. Rentals start at only $17/month (violin). Rental instruments are of high quality. Owner Jim Knapp also does repairs at very reasonable rates.
New World Youth Orchestras: This is a well organized group offering three orchestral opportunities for wind and string students - Concert, Philharmonic and Symphony. Orchestras perform at the Hilbert Circle Theatre in Indianapolis and other locales. The conductors are excellent. This is a great opportunity. Check the website for details.
Bonner Piano: Bob Bonner keeps my piano in tune. He also maintains listings of pianos for sale. I advise that anyone thinking about buying a used piano have it checked by Bob first. You really don't want to haul home a piano that you later find out cannot be tuned properly or has a hidden crack. Call Bob first!
Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp: Nestled in the beautiful Manistee National Forest of Michigan's western lower peninsula, Blue Lake is a summer music camp with art, dance and theater programs. Talented young people come from all parts of the country and all walks of life. FMS teacher Bethany Walters has toured with the Blue Lake International Orchestra for two summers. FMS teacher Emily Walters is currently in Europe with the IYSO. Since 1969, members of the Walters family have attended Blue Lake for 20 sessions and 3 international tours. Why do we keep going back?
