Come join me as I celebrate 50 years of teaching strings and piano! The Celebration Concert will feature piano ensembles, The Thistle Sisters, and the FMS String Ensemble. I will add a few stories of teaching over the years. There will be light refreshments afterwards. At the concert, there will be an opportunity to donate to the Family Music Studio College Scholarship fund administered by the Community Foundation of Boone County
All past students are invited to attend! Past string students and Fiddlesticks alum are invited to join the concert as a member of the FMS String Ensemble. To participate in the pizza party befpre the concert, students MUST submit this Celebration Concert Participation Form.
Concert Day Information for Strings - past and current students, Fiddlesticks Alum, Guitarists, Thistle Sisters
PAST AND CURRENT STRING STUDENTS & FIDDLESTICKS ALUM are invited to perform in the FMS String Ensemble. Here are two things required in order to participate:
- To participate in the pizza, rehearsal, and concert, string students & Fiddlesticks MUST submit this Celebration Concert Participation Form.
- You MUST attend the 5:00 pm rehearsal if you intend to perform. I do not have parts for viola and cello – you will use the violin part and play off of either the chord symbols or treble clef melody. Print the music linked below and practice. Memory is recommended for convenience but not required. Attire: Look nice, no jeans, modest. Bring: Your music and a music stand, if you need it.
Schedule for Strings, Guitarists, Thistle Sisters on March 22:
4:00 pm Pizza party for string students (past and current) and Fiddlesticks alum. Arrive by 4 for pizza and time to chat.
5:00 pm Rehearsal for strings, Fiddlesticks alum, guitarists, Thistle Sisters. If you plan to perform at the concert, you must attend this rehearsal.
6:15 pm Make sure you are tuned and ready.
6:30 pm Concert time

Order of music for FMS String Ensemble during concert:
1. The first three songs will flow one to the next without break. Kickoff (Tamzin) – Bile Em Cabbage 3x, straight into Cripple Creek 2x no repeats, straight into Old Joe Clark 2 x no repeats. Tag.
2. Kickoff (Tamzin) Skye Boat Song 2x, straight into “Soli” section (that means a small group only, I will let you know who) of Ashokan Farewell. All string players will join halfway through at “Tutti” (that means all).

Concert Day Information for Pianists - past and current students
CURRENT PIANO STUDENTS: The concert will start promptly at 6:30 and pianists are up first! Please arrive no later than 6:15 pm. Make sure you have your music. If you would like to, you can come at 5:00 for pizza.
PAST PIANO STUDENTS: You are invited to attend the concert which starts at 6:30. You will not be performing (I don’t have lots of pianos for a big piano ensemble) but you can come between 5:00 and 6:00 pm for pizza!
To participate in the pizza party, piano students MUST submit this Celebration Concert Participation Form.
Schedule on concert day for Pianists – past and current:
5:00-6:00 pm Pizza Party
6:15 pm Be in the sanctuary with your music ready for the start of the concert.
6;30 pm Concert time (Only current piano students are performing)
